In July 2018, Wenna Health carried its first mission of promoting healthcare and education by taking its crew from Minneapolis to a small village—25 km from the capital city of Togo, in west Africa.
Our mission was to promote healthcare and education in Togo. In Noepe, Togo a village with a population of
nearly 7000, 99% of the people had no access to healthcare.
We provided free checkups and had the opportunity to measure blood pressure, as well as sugar levels for diabetics to over 250 people. We also distributed foods, used clothes, and school supplies.
We had the opportunity to help students of ages 5 to 13 by providing them with school supplies, clothes, and books. We supported families by distributing tooth-paste and brushes to allowing them to experience what its like and takes to brush their teeth.
We really believe our model worked in Noepe - Togo because we were able to educate, provide, serve, and collect data. This allows us to better understand the next steps to take on providing care to the people of Noepe - Togo.
